Utah Teens Invited to Enter Lights, Camera, Save! Video Contest
Zions Bank is accepting submissions for the Lights, Camera, Save! video contest. To participate in the contest, students ages 13-18 may create a video, no longer than 30 seconds, on using money wisely and submit a link to the video along with a completed entry form to Zions Bank by November 30, 2025. The contest is open to filmmakers of all experience levels. Zions is awarding $500 to the Utah winner, with the chance to compete nationally for up to $10,000.

Fall GFL Methods Course
The Fall 2025 course registration is now open and will be held September 10th - October 13th. This course will run through USBE’s Canvas. There will be 1 module completed each week for the 4-week course. Educators may complete the work on each module on their own time throughout those weeks. Add the Success Sequence instruction to your GFL course
Board Rule Update for General Financial Literacy R277-704 approved the Success Sequence being added to the Financial Literacy Curriculum. Although not officially in the General Financial Literacy Strands and Standards currently, it will be in the 2027 revision. Please start to incorporate this into your financial literacy courses this year.
This Success Sequence resource has been prepared to focus on the financial impact of the Success Sequence in students' lives.

Oaks, and the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) honored the first-ever Utah Financial Education Hall of Fame inductees at a banquet on June 10, 2024. The Hall of Fame formally recognized Utah’s outstanding personal finance teachers, as well as the administrators who support them in their important work.
Utah Recieves an A Grade on State Efforts to Improve Financial Literacy
Using national data, Center for Financial Literacy graded all states on their efforts to produce financially literate high school graduates. This report card gave Utah an A grade in efforts to provide high schools with personal finance education.
