Time: 30 Minutes
Materials: paper, crayons, pictures of the items borrowed by Country Bear as listed in the story (see PPT, either display the PPT on a screen or print the slides to display on the board.) or bring the items in the story from home.
Have students fold their paper into 8ths and number each square. Discuss the order in which Country Bear borrowed each item, placing the picture or item in order on the table or chalkboard at the front of the class. Have students draw a picture of each item IN ORDER, in each square on their paper.
Students will learn the importance of being a responsible borrower and lender as they learn about Country Bear who continually borrowed items from his neighbor who became concerned until Country Bear surprised her with a cake he had baked using the borrowed items! This fun activity will teach students about borrowing and lending to be able to complete an art project.
